Does any of this sound familiar?

These are the things parents and teachers tell us most often about kids this age. OWN Camp was built around them.

“I can’t do it.” And that’s the end of it.

Gives up the moment something doesn’t work first time.

“But everyone else is doing it.”

Picks up opinions, habits and wants from whoever is around.

“I don’t know.” Then a slammed door.

Explodes or goes quiet, and can’t say what’s wrong.

“Five more minutes.”

More comfortable behind a screen than with people face to face.

Coping skills can be learned, and it helps to start early.

OWN Camp isn’t therapy and doesn’t replace professional help. It’s a safe place for kids to practise everyday skills: naming what they feel, calming down under pressure, and connecting with people face to face.

What teachers and families say about Project ID programmes

“I think PID is a good platform for students to discover about themselves, and I think it is a good platform for leadership development because I noticed very big changes in our students.”

Pn Saba, SMK Pendamaran Jaya

“After my daughter joined Project ID, she is exposed to more information, new knowledge and social skills. She is now more confident than before! She is brave to speak in public and not afraid to express her opinions.”

Pn Azlina, Mother of Hajar (PID Alumnus)

“Through my son’s involvement in Project ID, I’ve seen how Project ID emphasizes the development of children while instilling in them good values and important skills that can help them achieve their ambitions. I support Project ID’s activities and invite other parents to encourage their children to join Project ID.”

En. Safri, PIBG Chair of SMK Pendamaran Jaya

Questions parents ask

Can’t find your answer? WhatsApp us and a real person will reply.

Is this a therapy camp?

No. OWN Camp is a skills-building programme, not therapy or treatment. Our licensed counsellor designed and runs the sessions, but the camp doesn’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you’re concerned about your child’s wellbeing, tell us when you register and a counsellor will reach out for a quick chat.

My child has never slept away from home. Will they be okay?

Many children at camp are sleeping away for the first time, so your child won’t be the only one. Our team stays with the children through the night, with 1 adult for every 10 kids, and checks in with anyone who seems unsettled at bedtime. If your child is still upset, we’ll call you together and decide what’s best for them.

My child is shy. Is this camp right for them?

Yes. Quieter children often do well here because most activities happen in small groups, and nobody is pushed to speak or perform before they’re ready. Our facilitators keep an eye out for children who hold back and find easier ways for them to join in.

My child has ADHD, autism or a learning difference. Can they join?

Please tell us about your child when you register, and one of our counsellors will call you to talk through what helps them. If we don’t think the camp is the right fit, we’ll tell you honestly.

Standard 5 to Form 1 is quite a wide range. How do you handle that?

Activities are designed for ages 11 to 13. Where it helps, we group children of a similar age together.

Which language are the sessions in?

Sessions run in English and Mandarin, and our facilitators switch between the two so every child can follow along.

Can I contact my child during camp?

Children won’t have their phones during camp, so they can settle in and focus on the activities. You’ll get photo updates in the parents-only WhatsApp group, and you can message our team at any time if you need to reach your child. If anything comes up on our side, we’ll contact you straight away.

Can I visit during camp?

To help children settle in, we ask parents not to visit during the camp. You’re very welcome at the Final Closing at 2.30pm on Sunday.

Is transport provided?

[Yes or no] Parents drop off and pick up at White Resort Camp, Balik Pulau. [Add parking details]

How does the pricing work?

The first 20 children who register and pay get the lowest price of RM240. After that, the introductory rate of RM330 applies for this camp. Every price includes all sessions, meals, the overnight stay, t-shirt, materials and your child’s post-camp report.

How do I know if I’ve got one of the RM240 spots?

Spots are counted once payment is confirmed, not when the form is submitted. We’ll confirm your price on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and we update the number of spots left on this page.

Can a school or teacher register a group?

Yes. Please WhatsApp us and we’ll arrange a group booking.

How are photos of my child used?

We take photos during camp to share with parents in the WhatsApp group and, with your permission, on Project ID’s social media. You’ll receive a media consent form after you register, and we only show your child’s face publicly if you’ve signed it.

What if we need to cancel?

We regret to inform you that cancellations of bookings are not eligible for a refund. Once a reservation is confirmed and payment has been processed, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances. If your child can’t make it, you can also pass the place to another child, with a 1-week notice.
