Project ID exists to provide opportunities for students from low income communities to live their best lives.

It All Began Here…

Kelvin Tan

Co-Founder

I co-founded Project ID as my school-based initiative while teaching in SMK Pendamaran Jaya as a Teach For Malaysia Fellow in 2013. While teaching, I became familiar with the plight of students from low income communities and how the odds were stacked against them.

In order to succeed, I felt that my students needed more than just good academic results. They need to feel that they too can achieve their dreams. Hence Project ID: Impianku Destinasiku was born. Project ID is a student development and empowerment programme that helps students achieve their career aspirations.

What started out as a humble 1 year programme with a few activities to help students identify their ambitions and equip them with a set core values - grit, zest and collaboration - to pursue their ambitions, has now evolved into a programme the runs throughout the secondary school cycle targeting different focus areas of a student’s personal development.
