EduKerjaya Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

+ What is EduKerjaya?

EduKerjaya is an online career aspirations programme aimed at helping YOU to discover your career goals & ambitions while empowering you with the skills & knowledge necessary to pursue your dreams!

As a participant, you will experience a series of 4 Bootcamps in self-discovery, pathway planning, career sharing and career-related skills to learn about yourselves, career options and the skills required to help you succeed.

At the final end of your journey, you will get the chance to apply for and be shortlisted for mini-internships for 2-4 weeks.

+ When will it be held?

EduKerjaya will be held in a duration of six months where it will be divided into a few segments:

1. Recruitment & Selection: 7th June - 14th July
2. Self-Discovery Bootcamp: 7th - 8th August
3. Online Career Sharing: 14th August
4. Pathway Planning Bootcamp: 28th - 29th August
5. Career Preparation Bootcamp: 9th - 10th October
6. Mini-Internship: December

+ Where will it be held?

EduKerjaya will be conducted entirely online during each of the 4 bootcamps. Internet subsidy will be provided.

+ What are the bootcamps?

EduKerjaya will have 4 online bootcamps:

1. Self Discovery Bootcamp: Participants will attend 3 workshops on self-discovery, identifying career interest and future jobs & skills.
2. Online Career Sharing: Participants will get to meet & learn from experts in various industries such as finance, energy and media to explore the different careers available!
3. Pathway Planning Bootcamp: Participants will attend 3 workshops on their pathway after SPM, goal setting and time management.
4. Career Preparation Bootcamp: Participants will attend 4 workshops on job interviews, resume writing, e-mail & cover letter writing and managing rejection.

+ Who will I complete my mini-internship with?

At the end of the programme, students will be guided to apply to a list of available companies, and only selected participants will be assigned to a company of their choice to carry out their mini-internships virtually.

More information on the mini-internship will be made available to participants who are shortlisted for EduKerjaya.

+ What is the requirement to participate?

• Open to Form 4 students in Malaysia
• Individual applications
• Students with household income below RM4,850 will be prioritised
• Students should have basic language and numeracy abilities
• Participants will need to have basic computer skills (i.e. familiarity with Zoom, Google Docs, etc.)

+ What should I prepare before applying?

1. Your guardian / teachers' contact information (name, phone number, email)
2. A short answer (100-200 words) of why you want to join the programme
3. A 1 minute video introducing yourself & your ambition

+ How will the participants be shortlisted?

Participants will be shortlisted based on the following:

• Motivation to achieve their goals through the short answer question.
• Confidence and energy that they display in their application video.
• Communication skills to succinctly introduce themselves and clearly explain their ambition.

+ What does it cost to enter?

There is no fee to apply.
